As part of Intuit’s goal to empower 50 million students with financial education by 2030, we launched the Hour of Finance Challenge to encourage schools to spend one hour on financial education in April.

About the Intuit Hour of Finance Challenge
The Intuit Hour of Finance Challenge aimed to get students engaged in learning finances through a national competition that used an interactive online game to highlight the importance of financial skills through real-life scenarios. To encourage students, schools competed against each other to win a celebration worth up to $25,000, $50,000, or $100,000, depending on their school size.
The challenge included plug-and-play lesson plans based on Intuit for Education curriculum and Intuit Prosperity Quest, an online game designed to teach critical financial concepts such as taxes, credit, and investments. The online game makes financial education fun and relevant for students. As a part of the challenge, teachers were provided with the free resources to bring financial topics to life for their classrooms.
Engagement at a glance
Across the US, more than 26,000 students participated in this year’s challenge from 274 schools. Participation in the challenge peaked on Tax Day (April 15), with nearly 2,000 students participating.
