Today, we are discouraged to learn that the Supreme Court has overturned the precedent that supported affirmative action in higher education for more than 50 years. These rulings effectively eliminate the consideration of race as a factor in the college admission process and will have a far-reaching impact on the diversity of college campuses in the future and may impact our pipeline of talent from certain educational institutions where we recruit new talent.
At Intuit, our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is steadfast and remains unchanged. As role models and advocates for diverse and inclusive work environments, we firmly believe that it is our responsibility as a company to take action in areas where we can make a positive impact.

A diverse and inclusive environment starts with representation. We achieve this by diversifying our talent pipeline, which leads to representation across all levels of the organization. Throughout their Intuit journey, we support our employees by providing equity training to continuously foster a more inclusive and engaged culture. We also focus on equitable talent practices and policies, which address pay equity, performance management, and promotions.
While we’ve made progress, we must continue to do more, especially when it comes to having a greater representation of underrepresented and historically marginalized groups within our employee population. We’ve now intentionally and clearly included in our company’s True North Goals the percentage of women in technology roles as well as the percentage of our total workforce composed of underrepresented groups. To help meet those goals, we have 15 external DEI partnerships focused on underrepresented groups, as well as partnerships with HBCUs, and an apprenticeship program providing a non-traditional pathway into technical roles at Intuit.
We’ve known that we can’t rely on any one recruitment pipeline to bring in diverse and qualified talent for our company. As the impacts of these rulings are felt in the near term and over the next several years, we’re prepared to do the necessary work to build on our existing pipelines and new pipelines to meet our DEI goals.
